Sources and assumptions
Prices from the booking form on batmaid.ch (home cleaning), as of 01.11.2026: CHF 43.90 an hour weekly and every 2 weeks, 47.90 every 4 weeks, 49.90 once, incl. VAT. Wage and breakdown: batmaid.ch/en/about-us. Employed by you: the same gross wage (base + 8.33 % holiday pay), contributions from Clino's wage calculator, simplified procedure, same working weeks. Not included: sick-pay insurance (part of the CHF 2.51 at Batmaid).
Clino prepares the contract, the registration and the payslips, you file. 30 days free.
Start with these figures →On the price: Batmaid's plans page still shows CHF 37.90 (Standard) and CHF 39.90 (Comfort) an hour, excluding VAT according to its help centre. In the booking form on 1 November 2026 we were charged the same CHF 43.90 an hour incl. VAT in Zurich, Lausanne, Geneva, Bern and Basel (weekly and every 2 weeks), CHF 47.90 every 4 weeks and CHF 49.90 for a one-off cleaning. The form offers no plan choice. We use the form price, because that is what you pay.
We counted 200 Trustpilot reviews
Batmaid sits at 3.0 out of 5 on Trustpilot (1'823 reviews). The average hides that the reviews fall into two camps. What matters is who writes: customers Batmaid invites to review after a cleaning, or people who go to Trustpilot on their own.
Invited by Batmaid
112 reviews labelled «Invited»
89 %give 4 or 5 stars
Written without an invitation
87 reviews written on their own
72 %give 1 star
The trend points down: in 2026, 49 % of reviews gave one star, against 32 % in 2025. Batmaid replied to 14 of the 200 reviews. On its own website Batmaid shows 4.6 out of 5 from «293,029 verified reviews since 2015»: those are stars customers give in the app after each cleaning, so they rate a single cleaning, not the company.
Method: Trustpilot publicly shows the newest 200 reviews in all languages. We read them on 1 November 2026 and counted them by stars and invitation label; one review labelled «BasicLink» belongs to neither group. The themes below are a keyword count in German, French, English and Italian; one review can name several.
People praise the person and blame the system
Read the good and the bad reviews side by side and the good ones almost always praise the cleaner, often by first name. The bad ones are rarely about her; they are about customer service, cancellation rules, fees and no-shows.
4 and 5 stars
What is praised, % of 115 reviews
- friendly, kind25 %
- thorough, clean23 %
- punctual, reliable16 %
- easy to book12 %
1 and 2 stars
What people complain about, % of 79 reviews
- customer service, no answer32 %
- cancellation rules, plan, fees25 %
- poorly cleaned23 %
- cancelled or nobody came18 %
That matches the terms of use: cancel a cleaning less than 28 days ahead and you pay CHF 20, less than 8 days ahead and you pay the full amount (art. 10.2). The plans page, by contrast, says «free up to 72h before». So many happy customers want one thing above all: to keep the same person without the system around her.
What cleaners say about Batmaid
On the employees' side the scores are lower. The number of reviews is small, so read them with care.

- Since 2021 Batmaid SA has been the employer: permanent contracts under the cleaning sector's collective agreement (terms art. 5.1, batmaid.ch/en/about-us). Before that, households were the legal employers; in 2020 the Beobachter reported CHF 32 an hour for the customer and CHF 20.90 net for the cleaner.
- Batmaid itself breaks down what reaches her: in the Zurich column, CHF 26.00 gross of every CHF 43.90 hour goes to the cleaner (base wage 21.40 plus holidays, public holidays and a 13th month), CHF 28.01 in Geneva and CHF 25.44 in Vaud. Batmaid's profit, by its own count, is CHF 0.29 to 0.90 an hour.
- If she falls ill, Batmaid says it pays the first 30 days and a sick-pay insurance then pays up to day 720. That is more than many households offer their cleaner.
If you work as a cleaner yourself: your rights are in Your rights as a cleaner, and families who employ directly are in Find work. Clino is free for employees.
Your Batmaid, regularly but employed directly?
The most common question after a good experience: can I employ the person who comes every week myself? Batmaid's terms of use answer it in one sentence.
Batmaid · Terms of use, in force from 7 January 2026
Art. 7.6
During the term of the agreement and for a period of 6 months thereafter, the Client agrees not to directly solicit, hire, or engage the services of any cleaning agent who was involved in providing services without the express written consent of Batmaid. In the event of any breach of this clause, the Client agrees to pay Batmaid a damages fee equivalent to 3 months of the services used.
In practice: while you book Batmaid and for six months after the end, you may not employ or engage the cleaner yourself without written consent. You can cancel at any time (art. 10.3), but the cancellation fees of art. 10.2 apply to cleanings already scheduled. Batmaid names no price for the consent anywhere, not in its help centre either.
You book
The clause applies throughout.
You cancel
Any time. Cleanings in the next 28 days cost fees.
6 months
The clause still applies.
Free
Art. 7.6 no longer applies. Whether she moves is her decision.
Three routes the clause itself names
Route 1
Written consent
Ask Batmaid in writing whether you may employ the person directly, and keep the answer. Batmaid publishes no procedure or price for it.
Route 2
Cancel and wait 6 months
Six months after the contract ends, the clause no longer applies. Whether the cleaner then moves to you is her decision, also given her own notice period at Batmaid.
What the clause costs
3 months of services
For a breach, Batmaid asks for damages equal to three months of the services used. At 3 hours a week at CHF 43.90, that is about CHF 1,700. That is the figure in the contract, not a recommendation.
Is the clause valid at all? Legally open.
In staff leasing (Personalverleih), agreements that make it harder for the hirer to employ the worker after the assignment are void; compensation is only allowed if the assignment lasted under three months (art. 22 para. 2 and 3 AVG). But Batmaid calls its contract a mandate under art. 394 CO, and SECO's register shows no staff-leasing licence for it. SECO notes that flat cleaning can fall outside the AVG, depending on who directs the cleaner. We know of no ruling on Batmaid's clause. If you want to rely on it, get advice, for example from the cantonal labour inspectorate or a legal advice service.
Sources: AVG (SR 823.11) art. 12 and 22, as of 1.1.2026; SECO, instructions and explanations on the AVG, section 3.11.14; register of placement and staff-leasing firms (vzavg1.admin.ch), searched on 1 November 2026. This section is not legal advice.
Once the way is clear, it is about the employment itself: contract, accident insurance before the first shift, AHV registration and payslips. The step-by-step is in Register your cleaner. If you don't have anyone yet and want to compare Batmaid with employing yourself, read Batmaid or employ yourself. Fair pay is at least the CHF 26.00 gross an hour she earns at Batmaid.
Who Batmaid suits, and who it doesn't
Batmaid is not a cash-in-hand broker but an employer that organises wages, insurance and replacements. That costs: of CHF 43.90 an hour, CHF 26.00 goes to the cleaner as gross wage.
Batmaid suits you if you …
- never want to be an employer, not even with help
- need a replacement when the cleaner is ill or on holiday
- book irregularly or once
Batmaid suits you less if you …
- often have to cancel at short notice (28 days for a free cancellation)
- have found your person and want to keep her long term
- would rather pay her more directly than pay for office and operations
What Clino can't do
- Clino doesn't place anyone and arranges no replacement during illness or holidays.
- With Clino you are the employer: sick pay applies (CO 324a), sick-pay insurance is compulsory in 15 of 26 cantons under their standard employment contract. Clino costs CHF 19.90 a month.
- Clino prepares the forms; you file them yourself.
Batmaid FAQ
Is Batmaid legit?
Yes. Batmaid was founded in Lausanne in 2015 and since 2021 has employed its cleaners itself, on contracts under the cleaning sector's collective agreement, with social and accident insurance. Reviews are mixed: 3.0 out of 5 across 1'823 Trustpilot reviews. People mostly praise the cleaners and criticise customer service, cancellation rules and no-shows.
How much does Batmaid cost in 2026?
In the booking form on 1 November 2026: CHF 43.90 an hour incl. VAT for weekly and every-2-weeks cleaning, CHF 47.90 every 4 weeks and CHF 49.90 once, minimum 2 hours. The plans page still shows CHF 37.90 and CHF 39.90 an hour excluding VAT.
How much does a Batmaid cleaner earn?
According to Batmaid's own breakdown, CHF 26.00 gross an hour in Zurich (base wage CHF 21.40 plus holidays, public holidays and a 13th month), CHF 28.01 in Geneva and CHF 25.44 in Vaud.
Can I hire my Batmaid privately?
Not without Batmaid's written consent while you book and for six months after (art. 7.6 of the terms of use). For a breach Batmaid asks for three months of the services used as damages. Whether the clause holds legally is open: in staff leasing it would be largely void (art. 22 AVG), but Batmaid calls its contract a mandate.
How do I cancel Batmaid?
Either party can end the plan at any time (art. 10.3). Cleanings already scheduled are free if you cancel at least 28 days ahead; between 28 and 8 days it costs CHF 20, after that the full amount (art. 10.2). The plans page speaks of a notice period of «only 4 cleanings», which for weekly cleaning is about those 28 days.
Why does Batmaid have so many 5-star reviews?
Because Batmaid invites customers after the cleaning. Of the invited reviews among the newest 200 on Trustpilot, 89 % give four or five stars; of those written without an invitation, 72 % give one star. The 4.6 stars on batmaid.ch are app ratings of single cleanings.
Who pays if the cleaner breaks something?
Batmaid advertises damage insurance (Standard up to CHF 1,000 per incident, Comfort unlimited). But art. 6.1 of the terms of use excludes liability for damage caused by cleaners, as far as the law (art. 101 para. 2 CO) allows. Read your plan's conditions before relying on it.
What is Batsoft?
Batsoft belongs to the same group as Batmaid but works the other way round: you are the employer and Batsoft handles the admin for a commission of CHF 0 to 10 an hour depending on the canton. Neither Batmaid nor Batsoft describes a way to take over a Batmaid cleaner through Batsoft.
