Homeservice24 review: you found a cleaner – now what?
Homeservice24 puts you in touch; the cleaner is then employed by you. Here is what that costs and what you do after the match.
- Search: CHF 39.90–89.90 one-off
- No commission
- Employer: you
Our verdict: good for finding someone. The contract, insurance and wages are yours to do.

What does your Homeservice24 cleaner really cost?
Your canton, her hourly wage, your hours. What you pay as the employer.
Each month you pay about
CHF 426for 13 h a month
On the profile it looks like CHF 364. Holiday pay and employer contributions come on top.

- Holiday supplement 8.33 %CHF 2.33
- Employer contributions (AHV/IV/EO, ALV, FAK, accident)CHF 2.41

She takes home about CHF 26.87 net per hour.

- Yourself, with paper formsCHF 5'147 a year
- With Fairboss Premium (CHF 39.90/year)CHF 5'187 a year
- With Clino (CHF 19.90/month)CHF 5'386 a year
Wage and contributions for 12 months plus the Premium membership. Fairboss Basic is free, but its payslips run for 3 months only. Clino's 30 free days are not deducted.
Helpling, weekly, CHF 42.90 an hour incl. VAT
Employing her directly saves about CHF 1'307 in year one, Premium and Clino already counted.
Homeservice24 prices from homeservice24.ch, as of 02.10.2026. Computed with Clino's wage calculator, 4 weeks' holiday, simplified procedure.
Found your cleaner? Clino prepares the contract, the registration and every payslip with these figures, you file. 30 days free.
Start with these figures →The wage on the profile is gross: Homeservice24 says you pay it «zu 100% direkt an die Haushaltshilfe» (in full, directly to the helper). On top come an 8.33 % holiday supplement and your employer contributions.
Does «save up to CHF 1'500» hold up?
Homeservice24 promises savings of up to CHF 1'500 a year compared with a cleaning company. Recomputed with CHF 28 an hour and 3 hours a week in Zurich, Helpling at CHF 42.90 incl. VAT:
- Cleaning company (Helpling)CHF 6'690 a year
- Employed directly, incl. 1 month of PremiumCHF 5'150 a year
− CHF 1'540
- Employed directly, with ClinoCHF 5'390 a year
− CHF 1'300
Right in order of magnitude: about CHF 1'540 less a year, about CHF 1'300 with Clino. More hours mean more savings, a higher wage less.
Direct employment computed with Clino's wage calculator: canton of Zurich, CHF 28 gross plus 8.33 % holiday supplement, 3 hours a week (13 hours a month), simplified procedure. A cleaning company includes finding someone and a replacement when she is off; employing directly, you organise that yourself.
How Homeservice24 works
Homeservice24 belongs to Lemonfrog AG and says it has been active since 2008, with over 125'300 helpers in all 26 cantons. Each sets her own hourly wage, about CHF 28 on average.
Viewing profiles and posting a job is free. Making contact needs Premium (terms 2.3):
- 1 monthCHF39.90CHF 39.90 a month
- 3 monthsCHF59.90CHF 19.97 a month
- 12 monthsCHF89.90CHF 7.49 a month
✓ No subscription, it does not renew (terms 3.2)✓ Money back within 14 days, once per account (terms 3.3)
Lemonfrog AG is «weder Partei noch Vertragspartner» (neither a party nor a contracting partner, terms 4.1). It gives no guarantee for the work, and you must insure her (terms 4.2). You are the employer.
Identity: checked voluntarily against an official ID. She gets her own work permit (terms 4.2), but you still have to see it (Art. 91 AIG).
Worth knowing: Fairboss, where Homeservice24 sends you after the match, also belongs to Lemonfrog AG, as does Babysitting24.

Self-employed, pocket-money job or employed?
Homeservice24's own guide says: «Wenn die Haushaltshilfe nicht selbständig gemeldet ist und es sich nicht um einen Sackgeldjob handelt, ist die Anstellung der nächste Schritt» (if the helper is not registered as self-employed and it is not a pocket-money job, employing her is the next step). Two questions tell you which case is yours.
Is she recognised by the AHV as self-employed for cleaning?
Ask to see the confirmation from her compensation office. Recognition applies per activity; being registered as self-employed for something else is not enough.
She pays her own AHV
You pay her invoice. Without a confirmation she will almost always count as your employee.
Is she 25 or younger and earns at most CHF 750 a year with you?
What counts is the whole year with you, not a single month. The age limit runs to the end of the year in which she turns 25.
Pocket-money job: no AHV contributions
Unless she asks for them. According to AHV leaflet 2.06 there is then no accident insurance premium either.
In every other case you are the employer
Accident insurance before her first visit, registration with the compensation office within a month, a payslip every month. This applies from the first franc, even for 2 hours a week.
More on this: when a cleaner counts as self-employed and from when you must register a cleaner.
After the match: three ways through the paperwork
After the match, Homeservice24 points to Fairboss, a service of the same company. You can also do the paperwork entirely yourself or use Clino. On all three ways you remain the employer.

Fairboss as per fairboss.ch/conditions and homeservice24.ch/de/haushaltshilfe-korrekt-anstellen («Drucken Sie das Formular aus und schicken Sie es ausgefüllt ab», print the form and post it), read on 2 October 2026. Lemonfrog AG is a tied insurance intermediary and receives commission from insurers.
Honestly: if you want to do the paperwork yourself, Fairboss is cheaper. Clino costs CHF 238.80 a year instead of CHF 39.90 and is worth it if payslips, source tax and the year-end prepared every month are worth that difference to you. The full comparison is at Fairboss or Clino?.
What do Homeservice24 users say? A look at Trustpilot
On Trustpilot, Homeservice24 scores 3.9 out of 5 stars from 471 reviews (as of 2 October 2026). According to Trustpilot it has replied to every negative review, usually within 48 hours. One recurring complaint is not about the helpers but about the fee: you can only make contact with Premium.
Ultimately I'm glad I used this site to find a housekeeper. The steep price put pressure on us to find somebody within a month, and replying to the flood of responses took time. We are delighted with the housekeeper we found.
I spent 30 minutes registering only to discover I cannot write to anyone without paying a premium of about CHF 40. Asking for a fee is fine, but not when it's hidden until the very last step.

Honestly: who is Homeservice24 for?
Homeservice24 fits if
- you want to choose yourself who comes into your home
- you want the same person long term and don't want to pay an agency margin
- you are ready to be an employer, with all the duties
Less so if
- you expect a replacement when she is off: the platform doesn't organise one.
- you don't want employer duties. With a cleaning company the company is the employer.
- you want a guarantee for the work: under section 4.2 of its terms Homeservice24 gives none.
And Clino?
- Clino doesn't find anyone for you. For the search you still need a platform like Homeservice24 or an ad.
- Clino costs more than Fairboss: CHF 238.80 instead of CHF 39.90 a year.
- Clino files nothing for you. You sign and send yourself.
The first 4 weeks after the match
- 1
First meeting and trial visit
Homeservice24 recommends both. Use them to settle: is the hourly wage gross, is holiday pay included, is she recognised as self-employed, does she have a permit? A trial visit where she actually cleans is paid work.
- 2
Accident insurance before the first visit
Accident insurance (UVG) applies from the first hour, the trial visit included. Homeservice24 puts it at CHF 100 a year in most cases.
- 3
Contract and AHV registration
Put wage, holidays and working hours in writing and register her with your canton's compensation office within a month of her start.
- 4

What does Homeservice24 cost?
Viewing profiles and posting a job is free. To contact helpers you need Premium: CHF 39.90 for one month, CHF 59.90 for three, CHF 89.90 for twelve months, VAT included. Premium does not renew automatically. There is no commission per hour; you pay the wage directly to the helper.
Is Homeservice24 trustworthy?
Homeservice24 says it has existed since 2008; it is run by Lemonfrog AG. On Trustpilot it stands at 3.9 out of 5 stars from 471 reviews (as of 2 October 2026). But the platform only provides the contact: under its terms it gives no guarantee for the quality of the work, and you are the employer.
Who is the employer if I find a cleaner through Homeservice24?
You are. Under section 4.1 of its terms Lemonfrog AG is neither a party nor a contracting partner. Unless the helper is recognised as self-employed or it is a pocket-money job (up to 25 years old, at most CHF 750 a year with you), you insure, register and pay her.
Do I have to register a Homeservice24 cleaner with the AHV?
Yes, from the first franc, within a month of her start, with your canton's compensation office. You need accident insurance even before her first visit. Homeservice24 puts it at CHF 100 a year in most cases.
Is the hourly wage on the profile gross or net?
Gross. Homeservice24 says you pay the hourly wage «zu 100% direkt an die Haushaltshilfe» (in full, directly to the helper). Her social deductions come off it. You add employer contributions and, unless agreed otherwise, an 8.33 % holiday supplement. At CHF 28 an hour, one hour in Zurich costs you about CHF 32.74.
Can I cancel Premium?
You don't have to: for clients, Premium does not renew automatically under section 3.2 of the terms and turns into a free membership. Within 14 days of buying, you can use the satisfaction guarantee once per account and get the fee back.
Homeservice24, Fairboss or Clino: what is the difference?
Homeservice24 finds the person. Fairboss, from the same company, and Clino help with the paperwork afterwards: Fairboss supplies forms and a contract template, free or for CHF 39.90 a year. Clino prepares everything every month, for CHF 19.90 a month. In both cases you file yourself.
