What to watch out for

Admin fee: at most 5 % of the AHV/IV/EO contributions.

On CHF 10,000 annual wage that is about CHF 53.00 a year.

  • Family allowance contribution: 2.78 % of the wage, paid by you as the employer.
  • Child allowance: CHF 327 per child and month.
  • Education allowance: CHF 477 per child and month.

During the year

  • You report wages by post.
  • Annual declaration: by 30 January for the previous year. The office then invoices the contributions.

Our experience with Caisse AVS Valais

What we learned filling in the forms, from the office's own information and documents, and with our customers. Always with date and source.

  1. Form tested

Page 1 is only the instructions

The «Questionnaire décompte simplifié Plus» has two pages: the first contains only explanations, and every field is on the second. At the top of page 2, tick «Déclaration d'affiliation en vue du paiement des cotisations», the box for a new registration.

  2. Office documents

    By post only

The office's e-business platform is not open to simplified-procedure accounts. A household therefore posts the signed questionnaire, and each year its wage declaration, to the office in Sion.

  3. Form tested

    Details to have ready

Have these ready first: your parentage (filiation), date of birth, AHV number, civil status and since when, the date you lodged your papers with the commune, and your bank's IBAN and address. The form ends with the date and your signature.

  4. Information from the office

Family allowances: in the simplified procedure too

The office confirmed to us that the family-allowance contribution is also due under the simplified procedure. In Valais, part of that contribution is borne by the employee and deducted from her wage.

Admin fee: at most 5 % of the AHV/IV/EO contributions. On CHF 10,000 annual wage that is about CHF 53.00 a year.

I already have accident insurance. Can I switch to the simplified procedure Plus?

Yes. The form reminds you that you must then cancel the old accident policy, respecting its notice period (AHV leaflet 2.07, section 7). A change of procedure only takes effect at the start of a calendar year (AHV leaflet 2.07, section 9).

My employee lives in France. Can I use the simplified procedure Plus?

No. The office's questionnaire says so, as does AHV leaflet 2.07: in Valais the simplified procedure is not possible if you employ cross-border workers who live in France. Because it must cover all your staff, the ordinary procedure then applies to all your employees.

Clino is a private company and is not affiliated with Caisse AVS Valais. The office's own information is binding.
