How to register

With SVA Baselland you register using a PDF form: fill it in, sign it and send it by post.

The confirmation with your settlement number then arrives by post.
Accident insurance: SVA Baselland offers the simplified procedure plus. You must choose it explicitly when you register.

Admin fee: 4.3 % of the AHV/IV/EO contributions.

During the year

You report wages through the connect portal or by post.
Annual declaration: by 30 January for the previous year. The office then invoices the contributions.

Office documents
No salary certificate, despite the template
Under the simplified procedure the compensation office sends your employee a «Bescheinigung über die abgelieferte Steuer» (statement of the tax paid) for her tax return; you do not fill in a salary certificate. The «Lohnausweis» template linked among the forms on the same page is for the ordinary procedure.

AHV+ applies to all employees alike
According to the SVA BL information sheet, the AHV+ procedure is optional but applies to all your employees alike. If you keep your own accident insurance, you cannot choose AHV+. The form asks whether weekly working time is 8 hours or more, because non-occupational accident cover depends on it.

One rate, no connect discount
SVA BL calculates the administration fee as a percentage of the AHV/IV/EO contributions. Its information sheet provides no discount for filing electronically through connect. Where sva-bl.ch mentions a maximum rate, that is the legal ceiling, not the SVA BL rate.

There is a salary certificate template on sva-bl.ch. Do I need it?

Not under the simplified procedure. There the compensation office sends your employee a statement of the tax paid. You only need the template under the ordinary procedure.

Do I save on administration fees with SVA BL if I file through connect?

No. The SVA BL information sheet gives a single rate and no reduction for electronic filing. You can submit the wage report through connect or on paper.

Can I keep my own accident insurance and still choose AHV+?

No. According to the SVA BL information sheet, separate accident insurance rules out AHV+. If you choose AHV+, it applies to all your employees. Only cancel an existing policy once the switch is certain.
