What makes nanny payroll different from cleaner payroll
The services advertise with the cleaner who comes a few hours a week. A nanny is a different case: more hours, a higher annual wage, and several thresholds fall at once.
- •The simplified procedure only runs up to CHF 22'680 per person and CHF 60'480 per household. Above that the ordinary procedure applies, with withholding tax at the cantonal tariff.
- •BVG (occupational pension) becomes mandatory from CHF 22'680 of annual wage and age 25 - joining a pension fund is the employer's job.
- •Non-occupational accident cover (UVG-NBU) is mandatory from 8 hours a week. With a nanny that threshold is always met.
- •Sick-pay insurance (KTG) is mandatory in 15 of 26 cantons - decided by the standard employment contract at the place of work, not by the service you pick.
- •13th month, holiday pay and the in-kind wage for live-in staff (CHF 990/month) belong in the contract and in the payslip.

Plainly: on the franc amount alone, fairboss Basis and KLARA Home are cheaper than Clino. The difference is how much you have to know yourself - which canton sets which minimum wage, when BVG kicks in, which scale applies during illness.
