Why a calendar and not a checklist
A checklist gets read once. The duties of a private household are spread across the whole year, and the expensive mistakes do not come from not knowing: they come from nobody thinking about it in January. This file puts the dates where you are already looking, with a reminder one or two weeks ahead.
Where these dates come from
The wage declaration has to reach the compensation office 30 days after the end of the accounting period, so by 30 January. The NAV Hauswirtschaft rates and the indexed cantonal minimum wages change on 1 January. The probation period lasts one month under Art. 335b CO unless something else was agreed in writing. Public holidays come from the SECO list of Swiss public holidays. The salary-certificate date and the November holiday check are common practice, not statutory dates, and the calendar entry says so.
