Tips for your application

    Name exactly what you have experience with: dementia, Parkinson's, wheelchairs, fall prevention. That is what families search for.

    Say clearly what you do and what you don't: care, household and outings yes; medical care (wounds, injections, administering medication) stays with Spitex.

    Say whether you work hourly or live-in, and for live-in in which rhythm (for example alternating 2-week stints).

    Have you done the Swiss Red Cross care-assistant course or a first-aid course? Put it near the top and keep 2–3 family references ready.

Is it really free?

Yes, completely free and no sign-up. At the end we only ask for your email to send you a copy of the CV and your personal link for the family.

What goes into a caregiver CV?

Photo, date of birth, nationality and permit, like any Swiss CV. Plus what families in elder care want to know first: experience with dementia or mobility, languages, whether you work hourly or live-in, and references. One page is enough.

Can I work as a caregiver in Switzerland without a permit?

No. You need a B, C, L, G (cross-border) or Ci permit. EU/EFTA citizens get one easily with a job offer, also for 2-week rotations. For non-EU citizens there is practically no new permit just for care work. Without a permit it's undeclared work, with fines and deportation as the risk.

How much should I earn as a caregiver?

The floor is the cantonal NAV for household work, which also covers care in private homes: around CHF 20.35/h without training, more with experience or a qualification, and in cantons with a statutory minimum wage (GE, NE, JU, BS, TI) that applies. Live-in caregivers typically earn CHF 3'500 to 5'500 cash a month plus board and lodging. Presence and rest times must be written into the contract.
