Tips for your nanny application

    Say exactly which age groups you've cared for (babies, 2–5 years, school children). Families search by the age of their kids.

  2. 2

    A paediatric first-aid course is a must for many families. If you have one, put it on your CV with the year.

  3. 3

    List the languages you speak with the children. A nanny who brings German, French or English is a plus for many families.

  4. 4

    Keep 2–3 references from families ready, with phone numbers. Parents almost always call before hiring a nanny.

Is it really free?

Yes, completely free and without sign-up. At the end we ask for your email to send you a copy of your CV and your personal employer link.

What goes into a nanny CV in Switzerland?

Photo, date of birth, nationality and work permit, like any Swiss CV. Plus what families want to know first: which age groups you've worked with, which languages you speak with the children, whether you have a paediatric first-aid course and a driving licence. One page is enough.

Can I work as a nanny without a permit?

No. You need a B, C, L, G (cross-border) or Ci permit. EU/EFTA citizens get a permit with a job offer. Without a permit it is undeclared work, with fines and expulsion as the risk.

How much does a nanny earn in Switzerland?

Usually CHF 25–40 per hour gross, depending on experience and training. The floor is set by the NAV for household work: CHF 20.35 without training, CHF 22.30 with 4 years' experience, CHF 24.55 with an EFZ. In cantons with a statutory minimum wage (GE, NE, JU, BS, TI) the higher amount applies.
