Companies can't use the simplified procedure — and that's actually good
The simplified procedure (VAV) was introduced in 2008 for private households — explicitly not for businesses. An AG, GmbH or sole proprietorship that hires its own cleaning team falls under the standard procedure with its own payroll accounting and registration with the compensation office. More effort, but also more headroom: higher wages, multiple staff, withholding tax.
Three realistic paths for companies
1. Outsource to a cleaning company
Simplest path: an external company invoices as a supplier. No employment, no social insurance — just an invoice. Right when cleaning isn't your core business.
2. Direct employment under the standard procedure
You register staff directly with the compensation office, accident insurer, BVG (from CHF 22,680/year) and daily-sickness insurer. You produce payslips, withhold source tax and file annually. A fiduciary or payroll software handles the workload.
3. Quitt for companies
Quitt also covers standard payroll for SMEs. We recommend it as a partner — CHF 30 off with our code.
Why Clino doesn't help here
Clino is the web app for private households on the simplified procedure. We calculate wages, generate payslips and register with the compensation office — but only inside the VAV scope. An AG with its own cleaning team needs a different tool. We say so up front rather than reel you in only to disappoint.
