Still needed

  • Employee name
  • Employee IBAN
  • ZIP
  • Town
  • Net salary (CHF)

Every month it is three steps

The generator covers step 2. The other two belong to the job, otherwise the employment isn't clean.

  1. 1. Work out the net salary

Gross minus AHV/IV/EO, ALV and, depending on the case, withholding tax gives the amount you transfer. The calculator does this per canton.

  2. 2. Transfer the salary

Generate the QR code here, scan it with your banking app, done. The salary has to reach her by the end of the month at the latest.

  3. 3. Hand over the payslip

Your employee is entitled to a written statement showing gross, deductions and net. The QR-bill does not replace it.

How to pay the salary correctly

Only the salary needs a QR code from you

There is no invoice from any authority for your employee's net salary. That is exactly what this generator is for: the payee is the employee with her normal IBAN, the reference is "none" (NON), the message e.g. "Salary July 2026".

Normal IBAN, not a QR-IBAN

A salary is always paid to the employee's normal IBAN and without a reference. A QR-IBAN (with a reference number) is meant for billers and is not allowed for a salary. The generator checks this automatically.

AHV, UVG and withholding tax come separately

These contributions are billed to you by the compensation office (in the simplified procedure usually once a year), the accident insurer and the tax office, each with its own QR code. You don't create those here; you pay them when their bill arrives.

Employee has a foreign account?

The QR-bill only works with a Swiss or Liechtenstein IBAN. If your employee has a foreign account, you pay by a normal (SEPA) transfer using the same details.

The QR-bill is not a payslip

The QR code moves money, it documents nothing. Your employee is also entitled to a written payslip showing the gross salary, every deduction and the net. Keep the PDF here for your own file, but it does not replace the payslip.

Prefer it all automatic?

Clino prepares the registration, runs payroll and reminds you what's due when.

The generator helps you pay. Registration with AHV and accident insurance, the payslip and the year-end statement are handled by Clino for CHF 19.90 a month. Nothing is charged before day 30.

Frequently asked questions

Can I pay with this QR-bill from any banking app?
Yes. Every Swiss banking app (UBS, PostFinance, ZKB, Raiffeisen, Migros Bank, Neon, Yuh and others) can scan a QR-bill. On a computer you scan the on-screen code with your phone; on mobile you upload the PDF into the app or copy the details.
Do I need a QR-IBAN for the salary?
No. A salary is paid to the employee's normal IBAN and without a reference (NON). A QR-IBAN is only for billers with a reference number and is not allowed for a salary.
Is my data stored?
No. The QR code is generated entirely in your browser. The IBAN and amount never leave your device and are not sent to any server.
Does the QR code also cover AHV and insurance?
No, only the salary to the employee. AHV, accident insurance and withholding tax are billed to you separately by the compensation office, the insurer and the tax office, each with its own QR code. In the simplified procedure, usually once a year.
Can I pay several months at once?
Technically yes: enter the total and write e.g. "Salary July and August 2026" in the message. Under employment law, though, the salary is due at the end of each month, and postponing it is not an option unless your employee explicitly agrees.
Am I allowed to pay the salary in cash?
Yes, cash is permitted. But then you have no proof that you paid. In an audit or a dispute the burden of proof is on you. A transfer with this QR-bill automatically leaves a bank record, which is why almost everyone chooses that route.
