Registration is required
In Switzerland, household workers must, as a rule, be registered with AHV from the very first hour. The simplified procedure makes it effortless.
Costs are fairly split
AHV and unemployment contributions (12.8% of gross pay) are shared 50/50. In the simplified procedure she also pays 5% withholding tax.
Taxes

Frequently asked questions
Yes. In Switzerland, every employer must register household help with AHV, even for just a few hours a week. The simplified procedure makes it easy.
Most of the time she has one and doesn't know it: the number is printed on the front of her health insurance card (756.XXXX.XXXX.XX), a photo is enough. It was assigned automatically when her residence permit was issued, so there is nothing to apply for. If she genuinely has none, that is fine too: registering with the compensation office works without it, and the office orders the number in the process. You don't need it for the monthly payslip, but you do for the salary certificate and the annual declaration.
Your cleaner receives a payslip showing her net wage and social contributions. She does not see the Clino fee.
At the same gross wage she takes home less: 6.4% AHV and unemployment insurance and, in the simplified procedure, 5% withholding tax. In return she is insured and builds up her pension.
You can end the employment at any time and cancel your Clino subscription. No minimum contract period.
